hook 'em titans!

Yes, someone really was overheard saying, "Hook 'em Titans!"
Ha! Well, if it works, it works! :)

It was a freezing and exciting game. (If you consider blowing a big lead, going into overtime, and having to kick a field goal for the win exciting!) Oh, and there was the dolphins fan who was just plain crazy and, in the midst of threatening surrounding fans and being threatened by the surrounding fans, ended up tearing his shirt off of his body in front of hundreds....

trip to the lonestar state

We had such a lovely trip to good ole Texas!
Main purpose of the trip: Our dear friends, Chad and Stephanie, got married! We are so happy we could be there for their special day!
Other perks included getting to visit sweet friends (long overdue!), golfing (for Matt), getting to spend a day (the wedding day) with Addy's Nana and Papa Tom, Texas BBQ, and Tex-Mex.

Sweet Addy girl was such a trooper!
She did amazingly well on the 12 hour trip (thanks to Elmo and snacks!). And, wouldn't you know, she got her very first cold the morning we woke up to leave. This child has not been sick once in her whole little life. So needless to say, she wasn't feeling her best during the week. But I guess we really can't complain, can we?

[Quick sidenote....I noticed last night that ALL 4 of her molars have come in! How is it that I am just now noticing this?!? No wonder the little honey was feeling yucky this week!]

On to the good stuff.....

Our sweet friends
The Bryans and the Fullers

Addy finally got to meet Miss Savannah! They had so much fun. Sweet girls!

Savannah is such a little helper. She wanted so badly to help Addy walk--and she did a good job! She is going to be a great big sister to Baby Houston in a few weeks!

We loved getting to catch up for a little bit. We sure do miss these guys!

Addy had fun playing with Craig

At the rehearsal dinner
[this magnadoodle was a lifesaver!]

We stayed with some more sweet friends--Glenn and Erin. They are just precious and it was so nice to get to see them!

We got to hang out with Nana and Papa Tom the day of the wedding. We were in their hotel room and Addy thought this mirror was so much fun!

silly girl

showing Papa her book

back to the mirror

back to the book
[this can get tiring!]

Going for a walk down the hall. She did this about fifty times. I just know she is about to take off on her own.

at the wedding!

roomies and best buds

you've probably already caught on to this.....this is Addy's favorite face to make!

We are SO, SO happy for Chad and Stephanie!

Aren't they presh?

'tis the season!

We are so happy it is Christmas time!

{such a sweetie pie}

{then Charlie Brown's Christmas came on...}

{she was glued to it}

We went to the Opryland Hotel one night to check out all the amazing Christmas decorations and festivities. It truly is amazing! If you live in Nashville you must go!

Madelyn and Addy really wanted to touch the lights....

I loved the outdoor nativity. Addy really got a kick out of all the animals.

We had to bundle up for the outside portion. Brrrr!

Christmas time is so fun!

We had a super fun night at the Lighting of the Green at Lipscomb a couple weeks ago. It is always a perfect way to kick off the Christmas season!

Addy was completely mesmerized by Amy Grant and the other performers. Luckily we were sitting just feet away, so she got a really good view!

I think our favorite performers were the Annie Moses Band, Sterling Gittens, and Amy Grant (of course!). Brenda Lee, Guy Pinrod, and Buddy Greene were great, too!

We hope you all are enjoying this special season, too!

our ONE year old

Well, it's about time that I posted Addy's *one year* photos!
There are lots and (of course) we think every single one is precious! I love how they show her little personality. These are such treasures.

fourteen!

I'm a teensy bit behind on posting, but Addy turned 14 months on the 3rd. Fourteen months old! And such a sweet, silly little thing she is! This age is loads of fun!

I'm serious, y'all. Sometimes I just want to eat her up!

Addy Lou has been up to some fun things lately.....

-She can show you her belly button. (so cute!)

-She can stand up all by herself. I think those first steps are getting very close!

-She has learned some super important words:
"Nino" and "Nana" (her Grandmothers ought to be very proud!)
"Bees" (short for Sarabeth)

-Another interesting word she says a lot....."Mine".
I'm drop dead serious. This child says, "MINE!" What?!?
We haven't quite figured out if it always means what we think it means, though. Sometimes she says it as she is reaching for something, and other times she says it as if she is calling Madelyn "Mine". [Maybe that is because she has heard her sweet big cousin say the "M word" from time to time.....who am I kidding? She's a two and a half year old. "Mine" is a staple of her vocabulary! ]

-She loves butterflies and ladybugs. She is always sure to point the out whenever we see them, whether it be in books, TV, or real life.

-Addy gets SO excited when she hears a train or airplane. She'll take a big gasp of air, look at me, and point to her ear. It's the cutest thing. It's like she's saying, "Do you hear that?!?"
She also likes to wave at airplanes in the sky.
Doesn't that seem like something a big girl does??

-We've been having nap issues. Up until a few days ago Addy has napped like a pro. But as of late, not so much. I'm wondering if she is transitioning to one nap a day....Let's be honest. This bums me out a little. (Prepare yourselves. This might sound a tad bit whiny.) I just really like the 1.5-2 hour nap at 10:00 and then again at 3:00. You know?
But since I am a "look-on-the-bright-side" kinda gal, one nap is nice because it is easier to be out and about. Plus, the one nap is typically longer. Which means a bigger chunk of time to get stuff done. So that's nice, too. And I suppose it's gotta happen eventually, right?
Whew! I just had to get that off my chest :)

-Addy has learned what sound a sheep makes. She loves to "baa"! She also makes a really cute elephant sound, too.

-Her favorite animal is definitely a dog. Whenever she sees one in a book, magazine, or real life, she gets super excited.
We let her look at a L.L. Bean catalog the other night and she had a fit over a dog modeling some type of apparel (??). Funny.

-Another thing that Matt and I love is how Addy waves to anything and everything. She's a friendly little gal! Today we made a quick grocery run, and when we would go past someone, Addy would wave and say, "Hi." We make friends everywhere we go. One of the cutest things EVER!

-As you can see, she is still a good little eater! Nothing like spaghetti and avocados!

rock-a-bye baby

Addy loves rocking her baby dolls!
She'll pat their back, hold them tight, and just rock and rock. It's quite adorable. :)

She likes to rock with her big cousin, too!
